my apologies

world of bloggers.

You may have been thinking that I have dropped off the face of the earth.
And you would be right.

I am currently residing in a place called Wedding Land. Right past Engaged Lane and if you've hit Baby Boulevard you've gone too far. (way way too far)
It's totally awesome.
And kind of stressful.

And sometimes I get caught up in the little stressors and forget the big picture.
That I just need to chill out.
And be happy.
Because I am getting married to the love of my life.
And we are going to have the ultimate marriage.

Some things that have been accomplished since our last visit:

took my bridals
had two showers
wrote thank you notes
made and sent out invitations
picked out tables, chairs, sashes, flowers, centerpieces, napkins, food, etc. etc. etc.
planned the dinner
made the sign in book
designed the cake
stained the deck
planted flowers and more flowers
gone swimming and hiking and to the drive-in (not wedding related but important nonetheless)

Still to be done:

go through the temple :)
final fitting and picking up of the dress
one shower and one partay
finish wedding video
move in to the apartment
party at the dinner
party at the temple
party at the reception
party in mexico
party for the rest of time!

Registering

is the BOMB.

You get to point your laser gun and zap things

that you want other people to buy for you.

(a Wii may or may not have been the first thing we zapped. we know what's important.)

Whether by Accident or Fate

Last night I got a text telling me to check my email.

He had written me a poem.

He reminded me of how he felt when he met me.

He reminded me of the thoughts he had.

He even reminded me of that night in the beginning we stayed up all night talking - just the
two of us.

I was bawling.

It was perfect.

He had written it three years before he met me.

MLIA

While examining the basement of a potential apartment, my fiance said to me,

"Think of the fort possibilities."

We got the apartment.

MLIA.

While fastidiously ignoring my homework I came across this

From here.

And just about cried because it was beautiful.
And I might be a little hormonal.

I talk everyday about the thousands of things that I want.
Big things
Small things
Material things
Intangible things
Important things
Insignificant things

But that is all I could ever ask for.

So this morning

I was thinking about how when my sidekick and I told everyone that we were engaged
Everyone either had NO IDEA that it was coming or they thought that we already were.

Considering that, I let him know that means that our love is
like a ninja - sneaky but strong.

He answered back with an agreement and that "It could be said that our love eats lightening and craps thunder."

Now if that's not true romance I don't know what is.

Ya Mon

Yesterday we realized that it was one of our favorite holidays.
So naturally we...

Layed out and went swimming.
maybe i told my dance teacher i had a "group meeting" and picked up lunch on the way home to ensure my spot at the pool as early as possible. i wasn't excited though.

Listened to this while on our way to destination FOOD.

Ate Thai food
Because we felt like we needed something exotic and maybe Thai people smoke alotta weed?
*observe that HE looks more tan than ME and note that that is NOT actually the case*
*also that i'm wearing my bob shirt just for the occasion*

Discovered that Tap Tap Revenge has a 2 player feature!

i won.

Ate this beautiful stuff
because its amazing.

And watched this
awesome movie because its hilarious, features some Rastafarians, and because
that is
just how we do.

Happy 4/20!

*please forgive the differing font sizes. blogger is dumb and i am impatient*

Scenario:

Boy walks through campus.

Sees Girl from high school.

Stops to chat.

Girl asks about his Girl.

Boy asks about her Boy.

Girl: "Remember how in high school we'd talk about getting married and moving to Hawaii and having a dolphin for a pet?"

Boy: "Yeah, Girl and I are planning on doing that."

Girl: "No you're not."

Boy: "...Yes we are, we talk about it all the time, I'm going to grad school there, etc. etc."

Girl: "....."

Boy: "....."

Girl: "...My boyfriend wants to live in Logan. My life SUCKS."

Girl: *stalks off*

Boy: "Hahahahahaha"

Should have chosen a cooler Boy. We agree with you Girl. Your life does, in fact, suck.

1/19/10

Today happiness has been my new "go, go power rangers" ringtone. Everytime I hear the beepity beep of a T message coming my way I feel like I'm being called to go save the world.

Today

happiness was getting out of my dress and into some sweats and being lazy and comfy with a certain somebody.

Good Food and Fine Conversation

on this day, saturday, the sixteenth of january in the year two thousand and ten, these things are making me particularly happy:

-the promise of learning french in order to hold secret spy conversations

-stuffing myself till i couldn't breathe for pre-birthday fun at this place (its not just dinner...its entertainment!)

-this poem from this book (for anyone who loves poetry whether they know it or not):

Courage
Anne Sexton

It is in the small things we see it.
The child's first step,
as awesome as an earthquake.
The first time you rode a bike,
wallowing up the sidewalk.
The first spanking when your heart
went on a journey all alone.
When they called you crybaby
or poor or fatty or crazy
and made you into an alien,
you drank their acid
and concealed it.

Later,
if you faced the death of bombs and bullets
you did not do it with a banner,
you did it with only a hat to
cover your heart.
You did not fondle the weakness inside you
though it was there.
Your courage was a small coal
that you kept swallowing.
If your buddy saved you
and died himself in so doing,
then his courage was not courage,
it was love; love as simple as shaving soap.

Later,
if you have endured a great despair,
then you did it alone,
getting a transfusion from the fire,
picking scabs off your heart,
then wringing it out like a sock.
Next, my kinsman, you powdered your sorrow,
you gave it a back rub
and then you covered it with a blanket
and after it had slept a while
it woke to the wings of the roses
and was transformed.

Later,
when you face old age and its natural conclusion
your courage will still be shown in the little ways,
each spring will be a sword you'll sharpen,
those you love will live in a fever of love,
and you'll bargain with the calendar
and at the last moment
when death opens the back door
you'll put on your carpet slippers
and stride out.

What? I have a blog?

Since its been however many months let's just forget the past and start anew, pretending that I am just barely starting to blog mmkay?

Great!

So I am putting a new spin on this here bliggity blog of mine. I went public for one thing (I'm not alone in a foreign country anymore, so madre can rest a little easier), and and I really could not care less if anyone ever reads this.

My new-found blogging motivation is due to a few things:
I miss writing.
I don't have FB anymore so my computer time has freed up considerably.
Many signs have recently been pointing me in the direction of recording my thoughts, and who am I to argue with the universe?

The title of my blog (which I'm totally proud of BTW) works prefectamundo with my new direction. Nothing would make me happier than living in an
infinite summer. An infinite summer is also what I strive for my state of mind to be. That being said, this blog is now hereby and henceforth dedicated to all things that make me happy. It could be lists, a story, philosophical observations, one word, a picture... Its my version of a gratitude journal, and I'm pretty pleased about it.

Today happiness is something that happened yesterday (a bit of a cheat I know, but whatever, its my blog).
This nonchalant little exchange happened while examining this photograph.
Me: "Man. We are really good looking."

He: "I know....I sort of feel bad for everyone else."

Me: "...Seriously."

Facebook Knows What's Up

Yes, its true, sometimes I take Facebook quizzes.
Only the good ones.

Sara completed the quiz "What U.S. state do you belong in?" with the result Hawaii.
You truly see the world as your oyster. Life, to you, is one big playground. Money means very little to you.. Uncle Sam, who? And as far as you are concerned, beyond sand, surf, and sun, there's nothing more in the world you could ask for. You are most at ease and comfortable when your hair is wet, your toes are sandy, and your drink is cold. Friends and family mean a lot to you, but that doesn't mean you have to spend every waking hour together; sometimes you find comfort in solitude. And plus, absence makes the heart grow fonder. You will, however, find that one person that really completely you.. and once you do, you'll never want to live a day without them..
Me to a T.
I'll make it there someday. Don't be worried...
I'm not.
